Why the barn?
Our little barn was the village post office for 40 years as well as a laundrette. Prior to that it served as the cellar for the pub across the road and a grain store before that. Having been lovingly renovated in 2025 life is looking a little more glamorous, if not quite so communal, for this 200 year old, coastal Cornish building. It now combines comfortable, modern living with its old, original character maintained and key features sensitively restored!

ABOUT US
We love Cornwall, as so many do. Having travelled extensively, lived abroad, brought up our girls in one of the most distant points from the sea, this part of Cornwall has remained one of our favourite places to escape to. We are now chuffed to bits to have rescued a beautiful old building which some, more sensible types, may have knocked down! It has so much history behind it and now happy bolthole days ahead of it!

Rooks - there is a rookery nearby which may have been here longer than the barn! Gregarious, intelligent and sociable they nest collectively in the tops of tall trees in the village. You may not notice them at all or, depending on the time of year, hear them chirping and chattering away.
